Spring Fling
We're gearing up for the first-ever Atlanta Area Yarn Shops Spring Fling!
Join the fun Thursday, March 29, through Monday, April 2. Each participating shop will be giving away a gift basket valued at $100. When you spend $25 at a shop, your name will be entered into the drawing for that shop's gift basket. If you visit the same shop and spend $25 on other days of Spring Fling, you can be entered again! Visit multiple participating shops to enter multiple drawings.
Since we're one of the few area shops that carries spinning supplies, our gift basket has a spinning theme. It includes: a handmade drop spindle from Twin Birch; the book High Whorling by Priscilla Gibson-Roberts; 4 oz. wool roving from Kraemer Yarns; 2 oz. space-dyed wool top from Louet; 4 oz. hand-painted Targhee top from Mountain Colors; and 8 oz. undyed wool roving from a farm in Fayette Co., Georgia.
We know a lot of you have wanted to give spinning a try, so this basket could be perfect for you! If you'd like to see a drop spindle in action, we'll be having demonstrations in the shop on Sat., 3/31, and Sun., 4/1, at 1:00 and 3:00 both days. We hope you'll stop by!

One year later
Today we're marking an important milestone here at Sheepish. One year ago today, we got some great news from Bibi's vet: after two extensive surgeries and a pretty rough recovery period, our beloved shop cat was officially cancer free.
And so she remains today (knock on wood)! We continue to "grope" Bibi regularly to check for suspicious lumps and bumps, and are pleased to report that she is a very happy, healthy cat. She loves mingling with the customers and napping in the window, where she can be adored by her many fans in the neighborhood.
Once again, we extend a big thanks to all of you who have continued to ask about Bibi's health and to express your love for her. We--and Bibi--really appreciate it!

Springing forward with Wanda Nell
Hi, everybody! It's been too long. Winter has been a busy time for us. December 2011 was our best month in the history of Sheepish! We're so grateful to all of you who helped make that happen.
We kicked off 2012 by taking the plunge and getting a new point of sale system. It's been quite a process, entering all of our inventory into the database, but overall we're very pleased with our new system.
With these big milestones behind us, we're ready to look ahead and get back into the habit of blogging!
What's everyone knitting for spring? Stacy recently finished the Wanda Nell Cardigan designed by Jennifer Hagan (Figheadh Yarnworks). Take a look:
The pattern calls for fingering weight yarn and size 4 (US) needles. Stacy used Smooshy from Dream In Color.
We have the Wanda Nell pattern in stock, along with plenty of others for cardigans, tees, and tanks to get you ready for spring!
