Dream Club: February 2014

This month marks the final installment of the 2013-14 Dream Club. We hope you all have enjoyed it as much as we have! The Club will start back up in the fall.

February's yarn is a pretty pinky red that will brighten up these drab winter days and carry you into spring. The base yarn is Perfectly Posh Single Ply, a luscious fingering weight blend of 70% Wool, 10% Mohair, 10% Silk, 10% Cashmere. 360-yd. hank/$30.

The pattern that accompanies this month's yarn is called iLuv Ruffles. It's a keyhole scarf by Jessica Correa, who frequently designs for Dream in Color.

This scarf has a unique in-the-round construction and would be a great opportunity for those of you who've been wanting to try the Magic Loop technique. A perfect Winter Games Challenge project, perhaps?

Dream Club: January 2014

Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a great holiday season and that you all have been keeping warm during the recent Polar Vortex (which, by the way, would be a great name for a big, wooly yarn--or a band).

After the frantic pace of the holidays, are you ready to kick back and relax with a new project? Take a look at the latest Dream Club offering from Dream In Color.

This month's yarn is really a set of two yarns. They're both Perfectly Posh Sport, but one is a 70g variegated skein, and one is a 30g semi-solid skein. Perfectly Posh Sport is a wonderfully soft blend of 70% domestic fine merino wool, 10% mohair, 10% silk, 10% cashmere. Price for the two-skein set (about 320 yards total) is $32.00.

The pattern included with purchase of this month's yarn is the Zumi Cowl by Kay Dahlquist. The construction of this cowl looks like it would be a fun knitting challenge!

Reminders: As always, Dream Club yarns are limited edition, so get yours while you can. And if you haven't yet, check out the Dream Club Ravelry group for knit-alongs, giveaways, and other fun stuff.

Dream Club: December 2013

Here's the latest offering from Dream in Color's Dream Club. Yes, it's another gorgeous one! (We know we say that every month--but it's always true.)

This month's yarn is a special base created just for the Dream Club. It's 100% domestic fine merino wool, which knits up at about 4.5 sts/in on a US 7 needle (210 yds/100g for $30). It's wonderfully squishy and, of course, the hand-dyed colors make these skeins really special.

The pattern that comes free with purchase of this month's yarn is actually two patterns. This set is called Poinsettia, designed by Jessica Correa. There is enough yardage in one skein to make both the headband and the fingerless mitts. As always, we only have ten skeins of this month's yarn, so be sure to get one soon!

Did you know that Dream in Color has a monthly contest in their Dream Club Ravelry group? They host a knit-along each month, and at the end of the month they award a high-end skein of yarn (retail value $30+) to two randomly chosen participants. They also award a bag of Smooshy to the LYS where the winners purchased the yarn. Visit the group for full details.

Dream Club: November 2013

Wow, Dream in Color has been really outdoing themselves with this season of their Dream Club. Just feast your eyes on their November installment:

Oh my....

That's Alpaca Silk Wool Lace (50% domestic wool, 25% silk, 25% alpaca). Each big, beautiful skein has a generous 640 yards and retails for $30.

Ornata shawl designed by Susanna IC

The pattern of the month (included with purchase of the yarn) is the lovely Ornata shawl. This project knits up with just one skein of the Alpaca Silk Wool Lace.

The colors on this yarn are just spectacular. They're kind of like a rainbow, but deeper and richer. Pinks, oranges, greens, blues, browns...this colorway will go with so many items in anyone's wardrobe!

As always with Dream Club yarns, this is an extremely limited edition colorway, and we only receive ten skeins. So if you like it, come and grab it while you can!

Dream Club: October 2013

The latest installment from Dream In Color's Dream Club is another gorgeous autumnal gem. With Everlasting Sock ($26) as the base yarn, the warm colors of falling leaves really pop out in this smoothly-twisted 100% superwash merino.

Everlasting Sock

Accompanying this beautiful yarn, the Dream Club pattern of the month is Sand People Always Ride Single File (S.P.A.R.S.F.) by Claire Ellen. Dream In Color calls these cabled socks, "A perfect match between our wonderfully hard-wearing Everlasting Sock and an entertaining intermediate level pattern."

S.P.A.R.S.F. socks
This pattern might look intimidating at first, but if you have basic knowledge of sock knitting and cable construction, you can make these.

Remember, as a Dream Club shop, we only receive ten skeins of each month's yarn from Dream In Color. It's first-come, first-served, so be sure to stop by and get a skein for yourself before they're all gone!

Dream Club: September 2013

This month we're thrilled to be kicking off another great season of Dream In Color's Dream Club. Without further ado, let's take a look at September's installment from the club.

It's even more gorgeous in person!

Wow, they're really setting the bar high by starting the season with this yarn. It's one of Dream In Color's most popular yarns, Smooshy with Cashmere, dyed in an exclusive Club colorway that features all the rich tones of autumn. With 400 yards in a skein, this fingering weight blend of 70% superwash merino/20% cashmere/10% nylon is a real deal at only $30/skein.

With your purchase of this month's Club yarn, you'll also receive the pattern of the month. Dream in Color calls Menagerie "a unique accessory piece that can be worn in a variety of ways." Like all Dream Club patterns, this garment is designed to be knit with just one skein of the month's yarn.

Remember, we only get ten skeins of each month's yarn, so if you want one, come and get yours soon!

Dream Club 2013-14 preview

We're super excited because it's almost time for another season of Dream In Color's Dream Club to start. Last year was our first time participating in the club, and we had a lot of fun with it, and we know many of you did, too.

For those of you who aren't familiar with how the Dream Club works, here's the scoop: each month, Dream In Color sends us ten skeins of a special yarn in a limited edition colorway. When you purchase the yarn of the month, it also comes with an exclusive one-skein pattern that we'll email you as a PDF. We don't know ahead of time what the base yarn, colorway, or pattern will be. The surprise is half the fun!

The Dream Club starts in September and runs through February. Although we can't give you any spoilers about what Dream In Color has up their sleeve for this season, we can share this mood board they sent us, showing their inspirations for the new colorways.

So much beauty!

Doesn't that make you eager to see the yarns? We'll make an announcement as soon as the September shipment arrives!

Dream Club: February 2013

This month marks the last installment of the 2012-13 Dream Club, and Dream in Color is certainly ending the season on a high note.

Beautiful!

February's yarn is Everlasting DK, a 100% superwash merino in a rich hand-dyed fuchsia color.  It knits up at 5.5-6 sts/in on a US 5-6 needle. The 275-yard skein retails at $26.00. As always, this is an exclusive yarn, released only to Dream Club subscriber shops. Quantities are limited, so when this yarn is gone, it's gone!

What a way to brighten up a dreary winter day!

The pattern that comes with Everlasting DK is the Trinity scarf. The textures of this piece are perfect for showing off the subtle shading variations of the hand-dyeing.

Doesn't this look like it would be fun to knit?

We'd like to thank all of you who've made the 2012-13 Dream Club a success for us, and we hope you'll join us again when the next Dream Club starts in September!

Dream Club: January 2013

The latest installment from Dream in Color's Dream Club is here, and it's so pretty!

See? Told you it was pretty.
This month's yarn is Perfectly Posh Sport, a wonderful blend of 70% wool/10% cashmere/10% silk/10% mohair.  It knits up at 6-7 sts/in on a US 3-5 needle. The 320-yard skein retails at $36.00 and, like all Dream Club yarns, comes with an exclusive pattern.

Ichigo Tam
How adorable is this hat?!? It's called the Ichigo Tam and was designed by Jessica Correa of Autumn Fern Mobius fame.  The textured stitch pattern really shows off the bouncy twist and hand-dyed colors of the yarn.  Being hand-dyed, some skeins have more of the lighter blues, while some have more of the deeper purples.  Come and get yours soon, so you can pick out the one you like the best. As always, Dream Club quantities are limited, so grab Perfectly Posh Sport while you can!

Dream Club: December

Just look at this gorgeous color! Of all the Dream Club yarns we've received so far, this is probably our favorite.

The yarn is Perfectly Posh Fingering, a luxurious, lofty single ply of wool, cashmere, silk, and mohair.  It comes in a 360-yard skein and, being the exclusive yarn of the month, includes the exclusive pattern of the month.  This lacy wrap from designer Kay Dahlquist is called Seychelles. It's a basic rectangle shape that fastens with two buttons and can be worn a couple of different ways.

The pattern comes as a free PDF when you purchase the yarn ($36).  Remember, as always, quantities of this special Dream Club yarn are limited!  And don't feel limited by the pattern--this yarn would also make a fantastic cowl or scarf.  Just saying. :)

Dream Club: October

October's installment from Dream in Color's Dream Club is available now, and it's another lovely one.

This month's yarn is Merino/Silk Sock, a deliciously squishy blend of 75% U.S. domestic merino and 25% silk. The colorway is a beautiful autumnal mix of rusty golds and greens.  A 440-yard skein retails for $30.00.

October 2012 Dream Club yarn

In case you're just joining us, here's how the Dream Club works: each month we get a shipment of ten skeins of yarn from Dream in Color in an exclusive colorway.  With the purchase of the Dream Club yarn, you get the PDF of the pattern of the month.  This month, it's the Autumn Fern Mobius, designed by Jessica Correa.

Autumn Fern Mobius

Remember, both the yarn and the pattern are Dream Club exclusives, and you must buy the yarn to get the pattern. Don't miss out--get yours soon!

P.S. In case you missed it, we still have a few skeins left of September's Dream Club yarn, too!

Dream Club: September

We're very excited to announce that Sheepish is now a member of Dream in Color's Dream Club.  Each month, Dream in Color will send us 10 skeins of a new, exclusive colorway--a different base yarn every month.  When you purchase a skein of this special yarn, we'll email you a PDF of that month's Dream Club pattern. Each pattern will be designed specifically to showcase that month's yarn.  Each month the base yarn, colorway, and pattern will be a surprise for everyone--including us!

September 2012 Dream Club yarn

Our first installment of the Dream Club is available now.  The yarn is Baby, a wonderfully soft superwash merino laceweight, dyed in a lovely periwinkle blue with streaks of gray.  It's a 700-yard skein for $24.00.  The photo really doesn't do justice to this colorway.

Twilight Accessories Set, exclusive pattern with purchase of September 2012 Dream Club yarn

With the purchase of the Dream Club yarn, you get the PDF of the pattern for the Twilight Accessories Set.  This set includes a hat, cowl, and fingerless mitts, designed by Andrea Jurgrau of Bad Cat Designs, and you can make all three out of one skein of the Dream Club yarn.

Remember, we only have 10 skeins of this yarn available (correction, nine skeins--someone's already bought one!) and you must buy the yarn to get the pattern.  We expect these to sell out pretty fast, so be sure to get yours before they're gone!
